Natalie Dupont is the designer behind Dupont Atelier, a studio devoted to the quiet presence of handmade paper and light. Rooted in the Japanese Mingei philosophy, her work honours everyday beauty, imperfection, slow design, and the spirit of the hand. Every sheet of paper and every lamp is made by Dupont herself, using traditional techniques and natural materials.
Rather than resisting fragility, Dupont embraces it; encouraging a more conscious interaction with the object, where movement, thought, soul, and presence become acts of awareness. In her practice, light is not just illumination; it is a way of sensing time, material, and stillness. A quiet gesture of slowing down, in a fast-paced world.
Dupont founded Dupont Atelier three years ago, established whilst completing her MA of Arts in Design at the Design School Kolding. She mastered the craft of papermaking through an internship at the Paper Academy in Gilleleje, led by visual artist and papermaker Ann Vilsbøll.
Ark Kollekt presents the Ido Lamp for Collection 16, inspired by Japanese Ido tea bowls, a re-imagination of elevating humble rituals into conscious, intentional acts.
