RIKKE STENHOLT

Glass artist Rikke Stenholt does not only share her handmade glass pieces, she shares her whole process. By having her studio and shop connected as one, customers to her Aarhus, Denmark, boutique can both purchase her glassware, tableware and home goods, as well as see her in action working with hot glass.

Stenholt occasionally combines glass with other materials, such as metals, precious metals, leather, concrete, and rubber. Her work is very material driven, showing great reverence to raw edges, organic shapes, and undulations in texture or thickness. The outcome is design objects that look inevitable, as though they were revealed in the glass rather than built.

Her freehand practice showcases her craftsmanship and eye for the material's potential. From bowls to vases to glasses, Stenholt's work adds a sense of spontaneity to any space, blending seamlessly with a variety of other materials and textures.
