FREDERIK GUSTAV

Copenhagen-based design studio Frederik Gustav operates at the intersection of design,
architecture, and craftsmanship. They develop objects and installations that explore both
construction and sensory experience. Through the investigation of building techniques and
materials, they transform curiosity and technical precision into spatial and physical experiences.
With a strong interest in exposed structures, their work reveals the methods and logic behind its
making—celebrating the raw beauty of construction rather than concealing it. Whether working
with objects, spaces, or large-scale installations, they challenge conventional notions of form and
function. Their projects often integrate references to industrial and architectural structures in the
urban landscape, either directly or as abstract interpretations.

Each project builds upon the previous one, creating a cohesive yet continuously evolving structural
and aesthetic language.

Founded by Frederik Weber and Gustav Dupont, Frederik Gustav was established upon a shared
background in design from The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. From their workshop
on the island of Amager, they continue to push the boundaries of construction, form, and materiality
—always exploring new ways to build and create.
