MICHEL NORMANN

Born in 1966, Michel Normann is a Danish sculptor celebrated for his exploration of form, movement, and the tension between the abstract and the concrete. His artistic practice is driven by intuition and a profound belief in creativity as an essential part of the human experience. For Normann, creating art is an act of being fully present, allowing each piece to evolve naturally, shaped by the emotions and ideas that emerge in the moment.

In his acclaimed series, Shape of Women per Intuition, Normann captures the fluidity of female forms in motion. Cast in bronze and solid plaster, his sculptures invite viewers to feel and reflect, aiming to distill shapes to their purest essence by removing anything superfluous. This search for perfection is the hallmark of his artistic process - one guided by inner joy, intuition, and the pursuit of meaning.

Normann’s inspirations include sculptors like Henry Moore, Jean Hans App, Sonja Ferlov, and Auguste Rodin, as well as his personal mentors such as Jørgen Haugen Sørensen and Eli Benveniste. Beyond his studio, Normann shares an artistic life with his wife, designer & goldsmith Charlotte Lynggaard, and their family, continuing a creative legacy defined by passion, intuition, and uncompromising dedication to his craft.
