ISMAIL HASSOUNA

Ismail Hassouna, founder of Knife Guy Studio, is a Copenhagen-based bladesmith who specialises in making kitchen knives and tools. His creative philosophy and designs are rooted in functionality, simplicity and sustainability.

Hassouna grew up in Nairobi, captivated by blades from a young age, observing their uses in both ceremonial and functional contexts. His fascination with knives bloomed whilst completing a bachelor’s degree in Metal Arts at the University of Gothenburg and continued cultivating during his work as a professional chef. Hassouna’s approach bridges historic craft and contemporary design, forging a dialogue between heritage and innovation. Each knife is both a tool and a modular base for interacting textures and aesthetics, where ancient spirit meets modern form.

Knife Guy Studio presents a collection of hand-crafted satin stainless-steel blades for Collection 16; each finished with smoked oak and cherry burl handles.
