MEET

FRANCA CHRISTOPHERSEN

Ceramicist Franca Christophersen is, above all things, curious. The New Zealand-born, Copenhagen-based artist explores the boundaries of what it means to create in clay, resulting in a range of collaborative projects that are each customised to a specific space and function.

Working in a number of ceramic mediums, including clay, porcelain, and stoneware, Christopersen does not only limit herself to functional design. While she does create items such as bowls and mugs, she also sculpts, recognising that there is boundless opportunity for expression within this organic material.

For Ark Kollekt 03, she presents a series of individually wheel-thrown stoneware bowls and plates with molten silver details.
