Lis Andersen works exclusively with wood and stone. The authoritarianism that lies in format and frontality is contradicted by the vulnerability that is a consequence of the encounter between these two inherently different materials. The interplay between stone and wood creates a palpable tension within the piece while simultaneously working together, resulting in a beautiful material harmony.  

Crafted from diabase and marble the piece brings together two materials of different integral qualities which, fused together, create an elegant balance.
