RUNE FREDERIKSEN

Rune Frederiksen is a self-made Danish artist born in 1962. Frederiksen creates sensual sculptures in wood and stone as visual poetry. According to Frederiksen, art is communication; his sculptures convey a story that goes beyond the mere materiality of the pieces. Through the eyes of the spectator the piece tells a unique story that is deeply moving:

“The idiom is created intuitively as my expression of a sensual, spiritual aesthetic, in part borrowed from the Japanese concept of Zen. I work with wood and stone and shape the sculptures in a unified movement like a landscape. The sculptures can be experienced from all angles and generates a new story whenever turned” Rune Frederiksen.
