Daito Takefusa’s practice revolves around the moments when our body and mind meet the world through the definitive material quality of ceramics. He feels that there is a deepening urge from humanity for a physical connection with the reality in front of us, which is to say that such qualities of ceramics are naturally attracting attention today. A principle he believes in strongly is that this encapsules not only a strong sense of presence but also can hold meanings and claim its space. Daito draws specifically on these qualities to create objects that offer chances for us to meet reality.
