GEORG MENGEL

MENGEL is founded by Georg Mengel. Georg is a trained engineer and before launching MENGEL, he worked in the cement industry for large parts of his career.

Following an extensive exploration of the material in his own concrete workshop, Georg finalized a curated collection of furniture that was launched in 2022 during Salone Satellite, part of Salone Del Mobile in Milano. The signature stroke of MENGEL furniture is simple – large, robust, and significant pieces that maintain a light and elegant expression, while sparking a feeling of curiosity and joy.

For Ark Kollekt #08, MENGEL presents the First Edition of the wooden MA STOOL, which was designed for the Ark Journal Design Dialogue exhibition for 3DaysofDesign 2024. The First Edition of 20 pieces are all numbered and signed by Georg Mengel.
