ROOMS STUDIO

Rooms Studio is a leading design studio, co-founded by Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia, and the first women-run studio in Tbilisi, Georgia. The studio is a pioneering force of global design, working primarily with curated selections of collectible objects and designing architectural spaces.

Devoted to breathing new life into traditional motifs through contemporary design, Janberidze and Toloraia re-consider ancient and medieval Georgian and late Soviet decor, ethnography and mythology in both their design process and curatorial perspective, oscillating between modernist and symbolist sensibilities.

Ever-morphing, Rooms Studio embraces themes of repetition throughout their projects, emblematic of the vernacular architecture of newly-independent Georgia, not looking to erase or abandon chapters of history but rather to build upon and re-interpret.
