"My main subject is the landscape. I try to recreate the contemplation I feel when I look at it.
I extract the formal elements that make it up, such as waves, waterfalls, clouds, mountains...these forms are stylized, often anthropomorphic and covered with punch striations. These dots and lines are simple signs, common to all civilizations. They refer to human actions, from the drawings engraved on the flagstones of Gavrinis to the furrows of ploughing.
They are imprints left on the earth.
These sculptures speak of our memory, which, like time, does not pass but is superimposed."

For Collection 14, Ark Kollekt presents a trio of sculptures that explores the theme of water in its many states designed by Dominique Mercadal: Waterfall, Water Fountain and Seascape. With soft, flowing contours and textured striations, each form evokes movement held in stillness - a moment of nature made permanent.
