SHAHA RAPHAEL

Shaha Raphael is a Beirut-based architect and multidisciplinary maker. Raphael does not treat the two as mutually exclusive in her craft, rather blending the two to arrive at distinct, multidimensional objects and spaces. Her point of view is informed by various thriving interplays: natural forces and materiality; digital precision and traditional artisanal expertise; the found and the crafted.

Though Raphael’s creations span jewellery, furniture, glassware and more, what identifies them all as distinctly hers is a posture of elegance and intention. Each design has a poetic sensibility, echoing topographies and textures of Lebanon, mirroring its richness in ancient and intentional craftsmanship.

Having studied at the Architectural Association, Raphael re-located back to Beirut, continuing to collaborate with local expert artisans.
