PERNILLE ØRNSØ

Holstebro-born and residing artist Pernille Ørnsø’s work moves through various disciplines, spanning sculpture, instillation and outdoor intervention. Ørnsø creates primarily with natural elements—grogged stoneware clay, seashells, seaweed, jute rope—that charge her works with an uncanny, visceral vitality.

Ørnsø establishes the sculptural body as primordial, acting as a canvas of erosion, transformation, and resilience. Art as a relic of the earth. Through her works, Ørnsø wills a reconnection to the natural and primitive world in an alienated society. Previously working professionally in tantric bodywork, Ornsø now approaches clay with the intent to make the tangible visible, inviting the viewer to understand physicality within tandem with emotional depth.

For Collection #20, Ark Kollekt presents four ceramic sculptures by Ørnsø, each unique in their finish.
