The collection introduces seven new jewellery pieces made of sterling silver and Danish
antique amber, all locally crafted by hand by artistic silversmith Andreas Jørgensen.
Each piece is accompanied by a handcrafted ceramic jewellery box aligned with the sculptural richness of amber and crafted by treating the clay and ceramic material like stone. All jewellery boxes are made by ceramic artist Franca Christophersen in joint conversation with the narrative of the jewellery series.
As the title implies, the exhibition is a devotion to the hand as a creative force. All pieces have been locally handcrafted, but - more so - the exhibition reflects on the hand as the sensory bond between body and object and that which creates the physical bond between human beings.The ceramic boxes designed by Franca Christophersen, for Les Mains des Soeurs jewelry collection are elegant and thoughtfully crafted to complement each piece. Each box is unique in its dimensions, carefully tailored to house specific jewelry items while maintaining a harmonious aesthetic.
