For Collection 18, Ark Kollekt presents a selection of mixed media works by Alicia Gimeno. Each work is charged with Gimeno's deep admiration for the spiritual dimension of Eastern calligraphy. Expression beyond language; Gimeno invites her audience to experience her works as an embodied meditation. 

The architectural landscape of Catalan Modernism acts as a driving force of Gimeno's practice. Trusting in intuition, reconnection with organic forms. Gimeno marries the Japanese principles of 'ma' - the dignity of space that sits between - and 'wabi-sabi' - bearing the beauty of impermanence and imperfection - to arrive at large-scale works that evoke an intimate sense of contemplation of oneself and how we move through the world.
