Ark Kollekt presents three thrown porcelain works by Huang Yan, Flower Vase, Bowl and Round Jar for design/delight Shanghai.

Specialising in white porcelain ware, Yan does not see ‘white’ as a subtraction of substance, but an evocation of limitless imagination. Inspiring meditative appreciation for her works serves as a grounding in which we can recognise the boundless potential to create.

Each of Yan’s porcelain works follow a fluid, intuitive hand-crafted process to arrive at soft, irregular forms rather than traditionally circular ceramic silhouettes. Each design features hand-appliqued motifs along flowing edges, an embrace of flux and surrender of control.
